Petterson Auctions continues to have great auctions in Charleston SC (Photos)

Daniel Petterson’s Auction company had another great antique auction on December 20, 2012 at a residence on Ashley Hall Rd., in the West of the Ashley section of Charleston, SC. There were many antiques and retro items to be had.

Although the crowd was not huge there was very active bidding by anxious and knowledgeable bidders who compeeted for the antique furniture in the back yard of the house. Many of the buyers knew each other. Some people were buying for themselves while others were antique dealers.

A small print of old Charleston in a much larger frame by Elizabeth O’Neill Verner, a very classic and much sought after piece sold immediately for less than $200.00. That was the bargain of the day.

There was a beautiful ambrotype like photo in a very nice case that sold for about $20.00. There was an old wicker stroller in good condition. It sill had the attachment for the umbrella. There were also a pile of old quilts. There was silver and ceramics. In the end everything was sold. Of particular interest was a Victorian bed with a large tall headboard in beautiful condition. There was a chest of drawers and primitive tables with pegs. Of local interest were some old pharmaceutical bottles from Chester, SC.
