You may not think it’s a typical location to find a four legged companion, but it works.
Charlotte Mecklenburg Animal Control has been holding pet adoptions at South Park Mall, 4400 Sharon Rd, at the first of the month with great success. The location works because it’s a good  way to get the animals seen by some who wouldn’t normally consider going to the facility to see dogs.

“Animals do find good homes at this location and it’s sometimes better for the adopter to see them around other people and in this type of busy setting.” says Melissa Knicely, Public Information Specialist at Charlotte Mecklenburg Animal Control.

Dogs and cats  will arrive this Saturday, Feb. 6, at 10:00 AM and be available until 4:00. Make sure you go to Center Court in the mall to see them.

If you can’t make it this Saturday, please consider going by the shelter and adopting a pet from their location at 8315 Byrum Drive in Charlotte. You can also go online to www.compd.org and go to the animal control link to see how the adoption process works. For more information on this Saturday’s adoption, please email Knicely at mknicely@cmpd.org.
