You may love spending holidays with your pets, including Halloween, but just be careful before you begin enjoying your spooky celebrations. Halloween can be frightening for dogs and cats in particular, so keep pets indoors during trick-or-treating and absolutely keep black cats indoors for a week prior and a week after the scary event is over (black cats are unfortunately still mutilated and abused during Halloween due to their superstitious reputation).
Keep pets indoors, not in fences or on chains, to best protect your pets and neighboring children on Halloween night. If dressing up your critters for Halloween, make sure that their costumes do not restrict their ability to breathe or their sight, and be sure to NEVER GIVE YOUR PETS ANY OF THAT YUMMY HALLOWEEN CANDY!
Happy and safe Halloween to everyone and their critters!
