Normally, band Facebook updates tend to get lost in the sea of coworkers' musings on their kids' soccer practice and the latest on your cousin's Farmville crops, but on Tuesday, there was a collective (Facebook equivalent of a) gasp among Twin Cities music fans.

"Peter Wolf Crier is listed as in a relationship with Jagjaguwar Records," the band's page read.

Arguably the most buzzed-about local band right now (second only maybe to Lookbook), the Minneapolis duo of Peter Pisano and Brian Moen will re-release its debut record, Inter-Be, May 25 on the Bloomington, Indiana-based label.

Moen was in Shouting Matches with Justin Vernon, the Eau Claire native who is behind Bon Iver and a member of much-anticipated supergroup (and fellow recent Jagjaguwar signee) Gayngs.

"With our ears tuned into labelmates Gayngs, Volcano Choir, and Bon Iver, Peter Wolf Crier fits firmly into our developing Midwestern curatorial." Jagjaguwar wrote in a press release issued Tuesday. "This internationally traveling exposition of the Northern Midwest’s best and brightest all starts within a couple hundred miles radius, stretching from Minneapolis to Milwaukee."

Peter Wolf Crier will be sent off in style to the South by Southwest Music Festival in Austin, Texas with the Are You Local? SXSW send-off show Saturday night at First Avenue. Jagjaguwar has announced five SXSW dates so far for the band, and Moen and Pisano will also play Radio K's SXSW broadcast.
