Most Union College students may have already heard about this hidden gem located on Nott Street in Schenectady, now it’s time for others to use their stomach as a compass and unearth it for themselves. Peter Pause located on 535 Nott Street, may be known for their great Italian bread as well as their Chicken Parmesan, but what keeps people coming is the warm, welcoming atmosphere. Though it looks like a restaurant, the feeling is much more like a meal with the whole family, except you’re at your own table.

Most families miss out on breakfast together in the morning or family brunches because of busy schedules, but Peter Pause allows you to go out for a meal but still feel like you’re eating at home. Breakfast is served until 11:00 AM, unless you don’t mind paying a dollar extra per order anytime after that, and you couldn’t ask for better prices. For $6.25, the Chef Breakfast Special offers three eggs, bacon, ham or sausage with home fries and toast, making it a perfect hearty breakfast on a college student budget right in the Union College neighborhood. Instead of regular bread for toast be sure to order the Italian bread, the best part is that they give enough for you to take home and continue to enjoy later. If regular eggs aren’t what you’re craving for breakfast, no worries, they also serve omelettes and breakfast sandwiches from the grill however you want them, also for reasonable prices.

The wait staff and cook are always pleasant making sure you have everything you could ask for and to attend to anything else you think of later. With a welcoming smile and a happy disposition it’s a pleasure to be in their presence and eat their wonderful tasting food.
