Marvel Comics revealed today that Peter Parker will return in an all new "Amazing Spider-Man" #1, coming in April. The original web-slinger's return will be written by Dan Slott and penciled by Humberto Ramos. The issue will also feature a cover by Ramos.
In "Amazing Spider-Man" #700, published in 2012, Dr. Octopus successfully took over the body of Peter Parker and the mantle of Spider-Man. Compelled by the memories of Peter Parker that "with great power, comes great responsibility," Otto Octavius has been issuing his own brand of justice in the pages of "Superior Spider-Man."
With Peter Parker reclaiming control of his own body, the flagship Spider-Man title, "Amazing Spider-Man," returns with a brand new first issue to tell the next great Spidey epic.
Marvel has not yet revealed the fate of Dr. Octopus, whose original body "died" from cancer.
"Amazing Spider-Man" #1 arrives in comic shops everywhere this April as part of the All-New Marvel NOW! wave of titles and includes a free digital copy of the issue from the Marvel Comics app. To find a comic shop near you, go to www.comicshoplocator.com.
