'Peter Pan' soars into UCPAC-Rahway this Sunday

TheatreWorks USA brings timeless tale of youthful wonder to stage...“Would you like an adventure now … or would you like to have your tea first?”

Confirmed adventure-seekers should report to Union County Performing Arts Center, 1601 Irving Street, Rahway, this Sunday, June 8 for the 2:00 p.m. presentation of Peter Pan by TheatreWorks USA.
The production is based on the Royal Shakespeare Company adaptation of J.M. Barrie’s literary classic Peter Pan or The Boy Who Would Not Grow Up.

Tickets are $12 for all seats and available online at www.ucpac.org, by calling (732) 499-8226 or in person at the Union County Performing Arts Center box office, 1601 Irving Street, Rahway.

It’s fitting that modern audiences get the chance to see Peter Pan as a theatre piece, since the character first debuted in a stage play at the Duke of York’s Theatre in London, England in 1904 — seven years before author Barrie published the tale as a novel.

More than a century later, Peter Pan still enchants with its whimsy and wisdom.
