Peter Frenette got to Russia only days before the 2014 Sochi Olympics began and he shared with the fans his amazing view. Coming in for final approach, the athlete must have had the window seat on Monday’s flight as the wing, along with the city, could be seen in the distance. Team USA has been making their way to Sochi for the Winter Games, but this was the first picture from the sky that the fans got to see.

“Made it to Sochi today!” tweeted Peter Frenette from his official Twitter account on Monday. The athlete offered the view and the fans enjoyed the moment and got to feel the anticipation of the athlete on his journey to the gold.

As Olympic fans know, Peter Frenette is an American ski jumper who has competed since 2009. At the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, he finished 11th in the team large hill, 32nd in the individual large hill, and 41st in the individual normal hill events. In 2014, the Olympics have the athlete looking at a shot to be on the podium for an award. Making that happen isn’t going to be easy, but with practice and a few years of experience behind him, Frenette has a chance.

Team USA has plenty of Olympic hopefuls in 2014 and Peter Frenette definitely is on the list as one athlete at Sochi to watch.
