Peter Facinelli recalls dropping out of college at SAG Awards (Photos)

Last night, the Screen Actors Guild Awards took place in Los Angeles, California, and as expected Peter Facinelli (Carlisle Cullen in the Twilight Saga) appeared to both deliver the opening toast for the event and sit with his fellow Best Ensemble in a Comedy Series nominees from Showtime's Nurse Jackie.

During arrivals for the event, Facinelli talked to E! Online in the attached video interview about his experience with SAG.

"I was going to college at the time," he explained, "and I got a Law And Order job, a guest-starring role. I took it and I had to take time off school, and I never went back. So, I ended up like leaving school fifteen credits shy. I didn't get my college degree, but I did get my SAG card. And I ran into [producer] Dick Wolf at the SAG Awards when we were nominated for Best Ensemble for Six Feet Under, and I said 'I didn't get my diploma because of you, but I got my SAG card because of you so it was a good trade.'"

A good trade indeed, especially since he was a theater major. Also, it's been seventeen years since Facinelli's Law And Order episode aired, and he's accomplished quite a lot in television and movies in that span.

Photos of Facinelli at the SAGs are attached in the slideshow.
