The villain to X-Men Days of Future Past has spoken. Today, Entertainment Weekly has had a chance to sit down with Game of Thrones actor Peter Dinklage about his role in the upcoming blockbuster. Dinklage is set to play Bolivar Trask who is responsible for creating The Sentinels. While the character has been confirmed for sometime now, we haven't heard much on just who Bolivar Trask is; until now.
Peter Dinklage talked about his character and how Bolivar does not see himself as a villain.
I didn’t want to play the villain,” Dinklage told EW. “He’s a man of science. He’s a man of invention. He actually sees what he’s doing as a good thing — [his ambition is] definitely blind and he’s quite arrogant. He’s strove all his life for a certain respect and attention.”
Usually this kind of direction leads to an interesting villain. It looks like the writers know how to handle a real bad guy; but the question is will Trask be a villain that we end up rooting for or will he be someone who gets what's coming to him?
Along with Peter Dinklage, Days of Future Past stars Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Jennifer Lawrence, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Omar Sy, Halle Berry, Daniel Cudmore, Fan Bingbing, Boo Boo Stewart, Adan Canto, Evan Peters, Josh Helman and Lucas Till.
X-Men:Days of Future Past will be arriving in theaters May 23, 2014.
