Cruelty Free International has teamed up with actor Peter Dinklage. The news broke today that the 'Game of Thrones' actor has become an ambassador to Cruelty Free International to campaign against animal testing in the United States. Peter Dinklage is amongst other celebrities that include Joss Stone and Ricky Gervais that have paired up with Cruelty Free International to encourage the United States to follow the lead of the European Union. This March the European Union banned all cosmetics that are made with product testing on animals.
The Emmy and Golden Globe winner stated, 'It is unacceptable that animals continue to suffer around the world, including the United States of America, for the sake of beauty.' Peter Dinklage urges the United States to follow in the steps of the European Union. Chief Executive of Cruelty Free International, Michelle Thew is thrilled to have Dinklage on board and urges consumers to look for products marked with the Leaping Bunny symbol.
Cruelty Free International works with governments, organizations and companies for policy changes in animal testing for beauty. Animal testing is equivalent to torture as rabbits, mice, cats, dogs and other animals are burned, blinded and poisoned. Companies including Paul Mitchell, Urban Decay, NYX Cosmetics and many others have proven that animal testing is outdated and unnecessary as they continue to offer the public quality cruelty-free beauty products.
This year the European Union and Israel banned all beauty and household cleaning products tested on animals. India and Vietnam are also heading in this direction. Will the United States ever do the same?
