PETA is pleased to announce vegan beauty brand Pacifica will be the latest brand to become a part of the 'Beauty Without Bunnies' program. The 'Beauty Without Bunnies' program was launched by PETA to help conscientious consumers looking to shop cruelty-free. As of now PETA's 'Beauty Without Bunnies' program includes over 1300 brands. Pacifica will join the list and their packaging will soon include the PETA 'Beauty Without Bunnies' logo.
Pacifica can be purchased in stores that include Target and Whole Foods as well as online. Their line includes cosmetics, body and skincare, fragrance as well as products for the home. This cruelty-free vegan line offers products that come in amazing scents ranging from floral, fruit, woods and resins as well as herbs and spices.
Many shoppers have become more educated about animal testing. While a variety of animals are used in animal testing the target is usually rabbits for cosmetics because they have no tear ducts and cannot wash irritants out of their eyes. While the finished product may not be tested on animals along the way companies including L'Oreal, Estee Lauder, Avon and Mary Kay pay for testing harmful and burning chemicals on animals. Most companies that pay for animal testing do so because of the lucrative Chinese market that requires mandatory animal testing. Other companies including Pacifica choose to remain cruelty-free and not market to China.
