PETA vs. Beyonce: Queen Bey slammed for custom-made exotic skin sneakers

PETA, the People for Ethical Treatment of Animals, slammed Beyonce for her custom-made skin sneakers. Her new Perfectly Made Kicks designed by Isabel Marant are ticking them off. The New York Mag reported on Feb. 28 that the sneakers are made from five different animals.

The custom-made kicks are made from ostrich feathers, stingray leather, calf's fur, crocodile leather and anaconda leathers. The white sneakers include details like gold hardware and gold threading . The platform sneakers look glamorous, yet fierce just like the diva herself.

PETA was not happy to hear the news about Queen Bey's new kicks. They believe that the animals were skinned alive when they were made. They also touched upon the shoes' high price, saying they were paid by the animals that were beaten.

Beyonce is a huge fan of Isabel Marant. So, she wanted to design her own "King-Bey" shoes with the designer. Apparently, the sneakers didn't sit well with PETA. The singer hasn't released a comment yet on the controversy.
