PETA verbally tans Beyoncé's hide for her Super Bowl costume

PETA was not ready for that jelly.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has slammed Beyonce, reported The Daily News on Feb. 5, 2013. Her Super Bowl Halftime Rubin Singer creation has the organization up in arms.

PETA is taking the stand that Beyoncé just needs more education and will stop sporting animal hides for fashion. From a PETA statement:

We would take a bet that if Beyoncé watched our video exposés, she'd probably not want to be seen again in anything made of snakes, lizards, rabbits or other animals who died painfully. Today’s fashions are trending toward humane vegan options, and Beyoncé’s Super Bowl outfit missed the mark on that score.”

The multi-piece jacket, leotard and skirt required 200 hours to assemble, E! reported, and incorporated python and iguana skins, trapunto-pick stitched leather, nylon, metal, plastic, silk and Chantilly lace.

American football isn't the most PETA friendly sport. The so-called pigskin or football is actually made from cow hide as is the leather part of their shoes.

This is the second time PETA has been ticked off at this not-so-single lady. She hit a sour note with them after she wore a three-quarter-length Christian Dior mink coat to sing at the inauguration.
