Lady Gaga, who visited Boston recently, is making headlines with her raw meat bikini on the cover of the September 2010 issue of Vogue Hommes Japan. Even People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is taking notice.
Responding to Lady Gaga's latest bold fashion faux pas in which she posed naked except for several pounds of bloody, raw animal flesh, PETA released this statement:
"No matter how beautifully it is presented, flesh from a tortured animal is flesh from a tortured animal. Meat represents bloody violence and suffering, so if that's the look they were going for -- they achieved it."
Until Lady Gaga's bloody magazine cover, PETA has had nothing but good things to say about the avant-garde performance artist. In August 2009, the organization quoted Lady Gaga's Kermit the Frog outfit by designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, praising Lady Gaga's anti-fur message. They quoted the superstar as claiming, "'cause I hate fur and I don't wear fur."
PETA also applauded Lady Gaga's use of faux fur in her "Bad Romance" video. Gaga's fake polar bear fur in the video was made by fur-free fashion designer Benjamin Cho.
If that wasn't enough reason for PETA to support Lady Gaga, just last month it was reported that the singer requires Yves vegan hot dogs while on tour. Unfortunately, her raw meat bikini on the cover of Vogue Hommes Japan won't be improving her relationship with the organization in any way.
Don't forget to view the Lady Gaga slideshow at the end of this article. It was recently reported that extreme dieting had landed Gaga in the hospital six times in the past year, but the singer is currently looking fitter and healthier than ever.

What was her point? Is she a vegetarian and thinks we should wear meat instead of eating it? I don't get it. Why is she wearing dead animal on her?
