Pet Shop Boys’s new single “Love is a Bourgeois Construct” was released today in the US. This is the second single from the British duo’s hit album “Electric.” The group’s first single off the album, “Vocal,” is currently sitting at number three on the Billboard Dance/Club Play Songs chart.
“Love is a Bourgeois Construct” is currently available in two different iTunes bundles. The main EP contains the “Nighttime Radio Edit” and “The Penelopes Remix Radio Edit” of the song. The EP includes two all-new B-sides, “Entschuldigung!” and “Get it Online.” Many have said these B-sides remind them of German electronic band Kraftwerk.
Pet Shop Boys have also released a “Love is a Bourgeois Construct” remix EP featuring five new full-length remixes of the track by the likes of Dave Aude, Little Boots, the Penelopes and Claptone.
“Electric” is Pet Shop Boys’ first album released on their own label, x2. Prior to this year they had spent their entire career under contract with Parlophone Records. “Electric” has been critically acclaimed as a smashing return to the club scene by Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe. The album was produced by Stuart Price.
