Valentine's weekend is fast approaching and you need a kid friendly activity that the whole family will enjoy. The Sacramento County Animal Shelter has an idea that even includes your family pet! Your child's best friend is probably your dog or cat right?. A box of chocolates is dangerous for pets and your dog would probably eat the roses you offer him, so this is a wonderful Valentine's Day alternative to show your dog, cat or hamster how much you love them:
Get a fun photo together!
The Sacramento County Animal Shelter, located at 3839 Bradshaw Road is offering a fun family event on Valentine's Day weekend, February 11-12 between 12:00 and 4:00pm. My Furry Valentine Photos, will capture you and your furry friend in a Valentine themed photo for a small donation of $10.
A Valentine's Day photo of you and your pet, or your kids and the family pet is a great way to do something different and memorable for you and your children. And all proceeds are tax deductible and go to benefit the Sacramento Animal Shelter.
This is a good time of year to consider adopting a new pet for your family. The SCAC is also providing a coupon for a free photo to everyone who adopts a pet February 1 - 12. What a fun way to bring your family together at the beginning of a new year!
Questions to Ask Yourself Before Adding a New Pet to the Family:
- Are your children old enough to care for the pet?
- Do you have enough time to give a pet quality attention?
- Will it be an indoor or outdoor pet? Is your yard large enough to allow exersice for a large dog?
- Will the food and vet care fit your budget?
- Will the pet be left alone for large chunks of time?
Pet ownership involves the whole family and can be a valuable way to teach responsibility and care for others. Children tend to bond easily with a pet and the friendship can give the child confidence and security.
Valentine's Day is the perfect holiday to express your love for your family with a pet and to show your love for your pet with a Furry Valentine Photo!
