"Pet Pages" Photo contest #28 is here! Each week there are five photos for the readers to look at and vote on. Take a few minutes and look at the cute and adorable pictures from the readers of their pets and cast your vote. This contest will end at midnight on Sunday. If your pet is chosen as one of the first three voted as the best then you will receive an email asking for a description of the pet(s) or picture. Your 3-5 sentence paragraph will be directly quoted in a featured article the following week after all responses are in. Send your picture today to dstapleton2003@comcast.net  and put "Pet Pages photo contest" in the subject line. Photo bank is almost empty. Need pictures so send them in today.

“Savannah Rescue Spotlight” is a rescue dog or cat from a local shelter that is in need of adoption. The featured rescue’s are as follows:

• Haden is located at the Effingham Animal Shelter . This beautiful kitten is black and white and one of five domestic short haired kittens that came in. They all have similar marking but all are different, so if this one looks good but your looking for something a little different go check them out. The adoption fee is $35 and if the kitten has not been spayed or neutered, it will be your responsibility to have it done. You must provide proof of sterilization and rabies vaccination within 30 days of adoption.
• Harlee was found in the woods behind a home on Wilmington Island. She is currently at the Coastal Pet Rescue. She had 10 newborn puppies. She is the kindest animal. Not only after giving birth to the 10 cutest pups, Harlee had to go through heartworm treatment and has come through like a champ. She will be singed of on a clean bill of health beginning of Feb. and she will be ready for her next round of loving in your home. Special Medical Information: she will need to be spayed after Jan. The adoption fees per pet are canines at $150 and felines at $80. Adoption fees include the pet's shots, spay/neuter, microchip, 30 days pet insurance, and training DVDs.
