The very funny-named PetMyWiener.com site that helps place homeless wiener dogs has had an amazing success ration, with more than 32 percent placements.
The funny online shop with dog gifts has a Dachshund "Rescue Tuesday" program and they screen families to place them in permanent homes.
It's hard to imagine why anyone would ever abandon a Dachshund, but they do, and the abandoned ones need home.
It's been since April 30 that PetMyWiener.com started its Rescue Tuesday, a program that highlights a new Dachshund in need of a forever home from one of their many Dachshund Rescue partners. During this time, PetMyWiener.com has also accepted requests from individuals who also needed placement assistance for various reasons.
Every Dachshund featured on "Rescue Tuesday" is posted on PetMyWiener's Facebook page which is currently over 20,000 members strong. Their Facebook community is a great place for Dachshund enthusiasts to share photos, tell stories and hear about Dachshund news around the world.
The ultimate goal of Rescue Tuesday is to find a Forever Loving Home for these little bundles of joy. This new and exciting program has been a huge success with a 32% placement rate, which they plan on offering on their new sister site http://www.goodkitty.com in the near future. GoodKitty.com will also donate 5% of sales to help kitties in need.
Established in 2000, PetMyWiener started offering fun and unique Dachshund gifts to Dachshund enthusiasts through local events and other small venues as a hobby.
PetMyWiener.com was officially launched in 2008 with the purpose of helping Dachshunds by bringing fun and unique Dachshund gifts and wiener dog merchandise to the marketplace throughout the United States.
Five percent of every sale is donated to Dachshund Rescues and other organizations helping underprivileged Dachshunds in need. The nationwide launch was instrumental in reaching the masses so more funds could be generated to help more and more Dachshunds in need.
