Losing a pet can feel like losing a family member. Grieving takes time and support. Wisconsin Veterinary Referral Center has teamed up with Red Oak Counseling to offer free group counseling for people who have lost a beloved pet.

The pet loss support group is held the first Tuesday of each month from 7pm to 8pm. The group meets at Red Oak Counseling, 12970 W. Bluemound Road, Ste 308 in Elm Grove. Coleen Kittleson, LPC, NCC, an experienced counselor leads the group. Coleen has a warm, compassionate style and specialized in women's issues, anxiety, emotional abuse, trauma and grief, especially pet bereavement.

The entire cost of the pet loss support group is sponsored by the Wisconsin Veterinary Referral Center, with locations in Waukesha and Grafton.
