Billy Boy was a pit bull. He was a beloved companion and family member of Jacqueline Muth.
In December, Billy Boy was killed in the grips of a steel trap set out by a neighbor. What kind of neighbor would lay that kind of horrible contraption out to snare innocent animals?
Billy Boy died a slow and extremely painful death. Jacqueline had let him run the property following his “Geiger counter nose that in the end drew him to his death.”
Remembering how Billy Boy loved life, she recalls the agony of his death. “As soon as I heard his cry of pain, I went running. Within seconds I was at his side. About all I can remember of the location was being by the creek, near the culvert located directly under the road.”
Jacqueline Muth is a human being who loved her pet dog and companion, Billy Boy. The pain suffered by both Jacqueline and Billy Boy is unacceptable and downright wrong.
Jacqueline describes her muddy, bloody jeans and trying to gather up Billy’s dying body to free him from the death trap. He was still writhing as she screamed for help…help that didn’t come.
Jacqueline lives in a state that rarely punishes horrible animal abuse like the death suffered by Billy Boy.
The creek where Billy Boy died borders the sheriff’s property. The trap which still held the flesh of other dogs killed before Billy Boy could just as easily killed the sheriff’s beloved shepherd dogs. This trap killed a pit bull. Jacqueline wants Billy Boy’s death to stand for something, for his life to not go unnoticed.
