Pert Near Sandstone has earned a reputation as one of the top bluegrass bands going today. The band won the prestigious Northwest String Summit Band Competition and was hand-picked by Garrison Keillor to appear on his Prairie Home Companion radio show. The bluegrass quintet has played at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, the Music City Roots Festival, and the International Bluegrass Music Conference. The band has released four full-length studio albums and one live album, and they released a new 7" single entitled "Ship of Fools" (see nearby video) in April. The band is currently working on material for a new full-length studio album expected out in April of 2014.
