You are being watched by the government. There are cameras everywhere. The episode “Lady Killer” opens with Reese & Shaw under cover as a couple on a date following a man named Ian Murphy. He is also on a date with a woman, but leaves her to change his clothes to go on another date. He looks like a stalker & several of the women he dated have gone missing.
Meanwhile, “Root” is planning to leave the mental ward where she ended up after having a nervous breakdown last TV season. She has become stronger physically & mentally. An unknown man is trying to track "Root" down & is getting closer on her location.
Detective Carter & Shaw go undercover as bait for this Mr. Murphy at a nightclub called, “Blur.” Detective Fusco also attends the club as a patron. Murphy targets Carter after seeing her photo on a dating website. They're all listening in on a secret wire connected to Carter.
Finch discovers that Ian received money from an offshore account in another country. He also found out from Ian's car GPS that he was near the funeral of a woman he once dated. Carter goes on the second dinner date with Ian as Shaw watches them from a roof top through a gun scope. She is a sniper.
Ian later walks Carter out to her car & two unknown men with guns approach them. They plan to kill him, but Shaw shoots them both down in a split second. Bruce Wellington gave Ian the offshore money, but also sent two hit men to kill him. It turns out that Bruce's daughter fell in love with Ian & she became pregnant.
What happened to the boy? Is he still alive? If he is, could that boy be the heir to Wellington's fortune? Will there be another 'contract hit' put out on Ian Murphy?
