The number of thoughts that we have swimming through our heads in the course of the day is astronomical. In that mix, woven throughout the daily thoughts of our errands, chores and responsibilities are our hopes, dreams and goals. If we are able to sneak a moment of reflection into our hectic schedules perhaps our minds would wander to our most heartfelt dreams.
Our minds may drift effortlessly to thoughts of how we wish our future to unfold. We may think of a career we wish to have. We may think of friends and loved ones who will enter our lives. Perhaps we will think of an adventure, a safari or perhaps something simpler like basking in the sun on some tropical isle. Dreams are amazing. And yet dreams also have a purpose. They show us what we can become if we embrace who we are. They are the sparks of thought. They are the very substance of reality, if and only if we follow our hearts along the path they light.
Depending on who we are, dreams serve two purposes. For the steadfast dreamer unaware of their abilities they are a wonderful refuge from the monotony of daily existence. For those with courage and determination they are a wonderful source of inspiration. The people who realize their power have the benefit of harnessing their dreams. In capturing their dreams propel them to a life of unfathomable bliss.
A dream will remain a dream unless it is acted upon. For many the thought of acting on a dream is paralyzing. For those timid souls they feel an intact dream is their minds is much better than a dream that was launched but failed. But a dream will never fail if we keep it in the forefront of our thoughts. If we hold it with such unimaginable passion it will never die. But again, our goal should never be to hold on to a dream. It should be to live it.
The only difference between success and failure is perseverance. So many times we come to a roadblock and rationalize that the dream was not meant to be. We rationalize and hypothesize that perhaps divine intervention or our fate somehow kept the dream at bay. But like many of our thoughts, that thinking is simply a rationalization. As we have talked about on several occasions every future begins with a thought. Everything can change in an instant with but a single thought. To that point, in this instance, the best thought we could have is the understanding that the roadblock is a test to see how much we truly wish to live those cherished thoughts.
Of all the great men and women who have succeeded it is almost certain that their success did not occur on their very first attempt. With each setback they collected their thoughts, investigated what went wrong and most importantly continued on. They knew deep in their hearts that they couldn't stop. There was a force that was unstoppable. There was a belief that success was just around the corner and the only thing that would assure its arrival would be determination. With perseverance and a steadfast vision of their goal each of those great men and women knew they would succeed. And that is why they did. They didn't give up. Whether they stumbled once or 1000 times they knew they would succeed and it was just a matter of time until their dream became a reality. The most remarkable thing about these men and women is that they are us. There is no genius gene that allows one person to succeed where others would fail. Success is not hard coded into our DNA. It exists in each of us. And the only thing that stops us from succeeding is our faith and perseverance.
So take action and free those beloved thoughts and feelings from your soul. Weave them into the fabric of your life. It is possible. Every goal and every dream is achievable once we empower them with unbridled passion. Imagine how rich your life will be when you allow your dreams to escape your body and run free. Imagine how satisfying it will be to take a beautiful image from your soul and walk amongst it in your life. It isn't a story, it can be your life.
