Persian Gulf restaurant opens in Delmar

DELMAR, NY -- The Capital Region doesn't have as many ethnic restaurants as many foodies would like, but at least it now has one featuring cuisine of the Persian Gulf.

Manama Grille, which offers dishes from Turkey, Iran, Bahrain and United Arab Emirates, has opened in Delaware Plaza in space once occupied by Carappoli’s Family Restaurant.

This makes the second restaurant in the same shopping complex for owner Leo Ashiq, who also owns Shalimar. The new venture is named for the capital city of Bahrain, where Ashiq was born and raised.

Manama Grille serves dinner only, from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

The plaza is located at 180 Delaware Avenue. Phone: (518) 478-080.
