Perseverance Records has had a bit of a quiet new year to start, but soon they'l get the ball rolling and this is a interesting start of that. Michael J. Lewis' is a composer who has worked in films since the late 1960's and a lot of his music has been revered by soundtrack collectors and fans who have heard it. High quality orchestrial work that really is lacking in today's music to be honest.
This is a blast from the past offer of sorts as Robin Esterhammer is reissuing these out of print promos personally signed by the composer as a fundraiser for Lewis' latest projects for a short film called "CHISOS" which he has composed the music for. This a very noble idea and it's great to see a label owner reach out and do something is great as this to support not just film music, but music in general. My friend, composer Michael J. Lewis, has written a short film that he will score and produce: "CHISOS", for which he needs to raise $30,000. I have offered my help, and he responded enthusiastically.
To raise the money needed for "CHISOS", he is making available to fans around the world 3 copies of each of his film score promos that he produced in the late Nineties. But there is more: He will personalize the CDs to the 3 buyers, who purchase the albums. You can choose what you want him to write on the cover along with his signature (see image below). Where the cover doesn't allow it, he will sign the back of it, or - in the case of the two red Film Music compilations - on his picture inside the booklet.
But that's not all: To make this special offer even more enticing, Michael will also include a signed reproduction of the second page of his score to "The Madwoman of Chaillot", ideal for framing (11"x17").
The CDs go for $49.95, with the two double albums (The Unseen/ 11 Harrowhouse & Orchstral Film Music) going for $74.95.
To my knowledge, an offer like this has never been made available before by any composer, let alone with the inclusion of a piece of the actual sheet music!
