Perplexing Chimera is a strange new "Magic: The Gathering" card spoiled today Jan. 22, 2014 from Wizards of the Coast's upcoming expert expansion set "Born of the Gods" in an article on Wizards.com. This odd blue rare creature allows you to exchange it with one of your opponent's spells.

Whenever an opponent casts a spell, you may exchange control of Perplexing Chimera and that spell. If you do, you may choose new targets for the spell. (If the spell becomes a permanent, you control that permanent.)
3/3

By itself Perplexing Chimera really isn't that much of an imposing creature. Five for a 3/3 certainly doesn't turn heads, however it's its interesting triggered ability that makes Perplexing Chimera such a unique card. Did your opponent just cast a potentially game winning spell? Nope, you did. Of course now your rival will control Perplexing Chimera and be able to swap it back again to steal one of your spells.

Perplexing Chimera isn't the first card that lets you exchange control or it or another one of your permanents for something of your opponent's. There's a long and varied history of cards with similarly weird effects, and you can check several of them out in the attached slideshow.

How will you use Perplexing Chimera?
