Perilous Vault is a powerful new Magic: The Gathering card spoiled today June 26, 2014 in an article by Jacob Van Lunen on Wizards.com. Featured in Wizards of the Coast's upcoming expansion set Magic 2015, this mythic rare artifact can blow up the entire battlefield, dealing with just about any threat your opponent manages to throw at you and gaining you a massive amount of card advantage in the process

5, Tap, Exile Perilous Vault: Exile all nonland permanents.
The spirit dragon Ugin arranged the hedrons of Zendikar to direct leylines of energy. To disrupt one is to unleash devastation and chaos.
Indestructible. It's a keyword you'll be seeing a lot of, thanks to Soul of New Phyrexia. Because Perilous Vault exiles permanents and doesn't destroy them, it's an effective answer to indestructible threats. Perilous Vault will also deal with problematic bestow cards such as Boon Satyr, Herald of Torment, and Nighthowler. Unfortunately, it'll also blow up your side of the battlefield as well. The trick is the ensure that your opponent loses more cards than you.
Lunen suggests running Perilous Vault in a white-blue control deck with Jace, Architect of Thought. Backed up with counterspells like Dissolve and Syncopate, you'll be able to control which threats your rival casts. Your opponent will have to commit to the battlefield, leaving themselves wide open to board sweepers such as Supreme Verdict and of course our marquee new card Perilous Vault. If that's not enough card advantage for you, cast a Sphinx's Revelation or two while beating down with Mutavault.
One curious choice by Lunen is Detention Sphere. Normally we'd auto-include this (or Banishing Light), however the prevalence of Deicide, combined with Perilous Vault's exiling your own permanents too make running Detention Sphere a risk in our opinion. The last thing you want is for your opponent to get back their Prognostic Sphinx or worse after activating Perilous Vault.
We've no doubt that Perilous Vault will see heavy play in Standard and also be an MVP in Commander.
