Heading out for brunch this Saturday? Looking for a place with perfect plates for everyone, but not your ordinary brunch? Head to Pump Room at the Public Hotel for a perfect Saturday brunch experience.
Walking into the Public Hotel for the second time, I was reminded why I loved the ambiance they provide. The cool white and cream decor is offset by amazing antique and modern accessories. Its perfect to cozy up to the fire in the winter, or entertain a lovely summer brunch party.
The restaurant is huge, with lots of seating, so you can accommodate large parties as well as small. The service is excellent and the food speaks for itself.
Ok let's talk about the food. My party dined on several of the menu offerings, so we got a great sample of what Pump Room has to offer. From the perfect cappuccino to a breakfast cocktail (or even a mimosa "bottle" experience), you have many wonderful brunch drinks to choose for. For starters, we loved the sweet pea guacamole (and I hate cooked peas). It was zippy and fresh, perfect for a summer brunch. The table also loved the delicious burrata with strawberries, which was rich and fresh at the same time.
For mains, we tried the perfect crispy/soft pancakes (not pictured but very palate pleasing), the soft shell crab (crabby pictured in the slideshow), fried chicken with greens (a southern favorite), the creamy pasta (not pictured) and the french toast with apples (not pictured).
What I loved best about this brunch is that it is truly a departure from breakfast, with burgers and sandwiches, as well as hearty entrees, and classic breakfast favorites on the menu. This comfort food spot will be one to visit again and again for brunch! Bon Appétit!
