Perfect Portland Pints

In America, we say, "let's go grab a beer." Elsewhere in the English speaking world, one would say, "Fancy a pint?"If you do, PINTS in Oldtown Portland is the perfect place.

Opened in 2012, PINTS is Portland's first brewery since 1852. Talk about Oldtown! While it is the new kid on the block, PINTS still endeavors to produce an old school ale, the likes a Brit would be proud. The brewery uses small 3.5 barrel batches and Oregon grown hops.

With 10 beers on tap, the urban taproom has something to whet anybody's whistle. Except those gluten-free people. Sorry. The space is cozy, friendly and inviting. With its brick walls and hardwood floors, it feels like an English pub, without the English pound prices. From 3-6 PM, Happy Hour brings $3 pints. The Steel Bridge Stout and Black Pearl Cascadian Dark are both exceptional options for the dark, cold and wet of Portland's winter.

Plan to ride your bike, walk or take public transportation, because parking is not friendly in this section of Oldtown Portland. But that's a good thing. If it's Friday, have another pint and sit back and enjoy live music.

Cheers, mate!
