Nail polish is the top accessory choice of American women, with over $768 million sales made in 2012.
While the colorful accessory continues to trend, it makes sense nail polish was an easy way for beauties posing on the red carpet at the Screen Actors Guild Awards to show off their sense of style.
Walking Pneumonia never looked so good as seen on "Silver Linings Playbook" star Jennifer Lawrence. Wearing a marine blue Dior Haute Couture gown, the winner of the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role, wore a clean and simple manicure created by Essie’s prima ballerina layered with pure pearlfection from the luxeffects collection.
Sarah Hyland from "Modern Family' paired her Violet Dolce & Gabanna gown also kept her nails classic and neutral using two coats of Essie’s prima ballerina layered with a sheer coat of pure pearlfection from the luxeffects collection. While this combo shined on the red-carpet, she completed the look with a clear rhinestone applied to the moon at the base of each nail.
The boldest look of the night was made by Naomi Watts, nominated for an Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role, and drenched in a sparkly, silver, strapless Marchesa gown. Her simple accessories were a Ferragamo clutch and a bold manicure created by Tracey Sutter using Essie’s stylenomics mixed with imported bubbly. This beautiful Emerald shade is actually the Pantone "Color of the Year" and the best way to incorporate this hot color into your look in without a major investment.
