The revamped version of Rare's first-person shooter classic, Perfect Dark, was released this morning to Xbox Live Arcade. Perfect Dark ended up being the cheapest yet most anticipated release for Microsoft's Block Party promotion for the month of March. The game costs 800 MS Points and a free trial demo is available as well.
Perfect Dark for Xbox Live Arcade is updated graphically with HD textures to run at 1080p and 60 frames per second. Quite the improvement over the original N64 version that slowed to a crawl at times.
The game also features local 4-player split-screen multiplayer and up to 8-player online multi-player. All the original maps and weapons come unlocked with the game from the start including the Goldeneye maps and weapons.
As part of Microsoft's Block Party promotion, if you purchase all three games released in the month of March and download the free version of Game Room then you get 400 MS Points ($5) back and a free month of Xbox Live Gold ($4 value).
