Perez Hilton mocks Howard Stern's threats to quit Sirius XM

Perez Hilton jumped on the Howard Stern bluff-calling bandwagon on Tuesday by backing up an AP story mocking Howard Stern's threats to quit Sirius XM radio when his contract expires in 2011.

The celebrity gossip blogger and CEO of PerezHilton.com, who appeared on the Howard Stern Show in early December, wrote Tuesday:

"He [Howard Stern] is threatening to walk if he isn't given more money, but with no place to go, it doesn't come off as much of a threat. Sirius is the only satellite station left that has the funds to pay him and allow him to provide his uncensored entertainment. He could move back to AM, but he would have to prepare himself to be a whole lot less racy and still get a smaller paycheck.  Not so much a threat as a reality check, huh Howard?"

Perez Hilton cited an article from the Associated Press which mocked Howard Stern's threats to leave Sirius XM as "empty"

Perez Hilton's Howard Stern Show appearance included dirt on Adam Lambert, Miley Cyrus and an evaluation of Howard Stern Show writer Sal Governale's pubic hair.  Hilton also told Howard Stern that Tiger Woods Mistress #1 Rachel Uchitel has a history of relationships with married men, and added: “I believe the wife, who beat Tiger’s ass, because she found out that it was really happening.”

None of the reports of Howard Stern's "threats" to end his show on Sirius XM have stated just how much  money Howard Stern is "demanding" to stay on air.

When will Stern threaten to become relevant again ... that's the bigger question.

  • Atheist Toto 2 years ago

Xtn Toto, I bet people that you admire listen to and are influenced by Stern. Like Google Trends itself, the people who do cool, relevant stuff these days are influenced by Howard and his radio show.

I think Perez' relevancy is finished. He couldn't even work the Carrie Prejean scandal into a career boost. Keep working that "celebrity" judge/guest circuit.
