The Seattle Seahawks are about to get a whole lot scarier, as if they aren't already doing well enough. On October 18, NFL.com reported that Percy Harvin is hoping to be active and playing in the week 8 game against St. Louis.
Although Harvin underwent hip surgery in early August, he is set to return to practice this week. He also vowed to make his Seahawks debut during the week 8 match up against the St. Louis Rams. Although he is eager and that is a good sign, many wonder if this early of a return is possible.
Harvin has never played a game for Seattle and may not be ready. Coach Pete Carroll has said that he is running well and will be ready start very soon though, so fantasy football team owners should certainly take note. If he is still listed as a free agent, which is highly unlikely if your competition is paying attention, go pick him up right now.
Harvin's return to the field is another great asset to an already successful Seattle Seahawks team. Adding the bulk and skill of Percy Harvin to the offensive lineup will only make them more of a Superbowl contender. His presence will also open up Russell Wilson's game and fantasy players who have held onto him may finally see their payoff. Until recently, Wilson has put up some mediocre fantasy numbers, mostly due to his preference to run the ball rather than throw it. With Harvin in the mix, that could very well change.
