Percy Harvin's return to the Seattle Seahawks could be delayed

The explosive Percy Harvin has never actually played for the Seattle Seahawks, but fans are eagerly anticipating his debut. One problem is that they may have to wait longer than originally though. While some reports say Harvin's rehab is going "extremely well;" Pro Football Talk reported on Sept. 28, 2013, that Harvin may not even be back by week seven.

Percy Harvin has returned to New York, and some believed that meant his surgically repaired hip was on far-ahead on the road to recovery. Others believe the exact opposite and think he's not as ahead of schedule as Harvin hinted at earlier in September.

It is all going to be a judgment call in Harvin's rehab, and the Seahawks are going to have to determine if he is ready to come back by week seven. Harvin was placed on the reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list, and that means he can get back to practice anywhere from week six to week 11.

Once he is at practice, there is a three-week window from that point to put the player on the active 53-man roster or shut him down for the season.

The fact that Harvin's injury was so serious and coach Pete Carroll doesn't want to rush him back, isn't exactly a bad thing.

Seattle is sitting at 3-0 and playing some of the best football in the entire NFL. If they continue to succeed without Harvin, it makes sense to let him sit longer and fully heal. That way, when the season advances to a possible playoff appearance for the Seahawks, Harvin can be well rested and bring a great offensive weapon for more firepower.
