Pepsi-flavored Cheetos is a new flavor and while it's hard to imagine what that might taste like, one very brave food blogger gave them a try. One question that folks may be pondering today is; will theses new Pepsi-flavored Cheetos quench your thirst while appeasing your snack attack? According to the blogger that The Inquisitr quotes in their Aug.16, article, it does something totally different.
These Pepsi-flavored Cheetos are currently available in Japan, where they originated, but will they become available in the states? Rumor has it that they are coming this way. If Steve from the website, the Impulsive Buy's experience with these soda pop cheese puffs is any indication, they don't sound like they would appeal to the masses, but you never know.
Steve recalls the horror of giving the Pepsi-flavored Cheetos a try:
“The first sensation, which I did not expect, was a very acidic bite. It tries to capture the citrus notes of Pepsi, but it’s over the top. Too lemony. The sweeter cola flavor is there but it’s subtler and overpowered by the intense citrus.”
He continues with his experience, which doesn't seem to get any better and he offers no redeeming qualities from this bizarre snack food:
“The flavors are very distinct and don’t really ever mesh well together. But they do linger in the mouth for quite a while to leave you with a weird, marginally accurate, if lemony, Pepsi aftertaste. The corn puff tastes like it should. It doesn’t do a lot besides acting as a vehicle, which is good because there is already a lot going on.”
One thing that Steve seemed to be impressed with is that these Pepsi-flavored Cheetos seem a bit interactive because once you put them in your mouth, "they fizz."
