The People's Choice Awards red carpet 2014 dazzled with Hollywood elite, all dressed up with somewhere to go! Where they were going: the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. What they were wearing: a lot of strappy, barely-there heels, mostly minimal, tasteful jewelry and a lot of white!
Besides spotting these red carpet trends, we were also scoping out the ladies in order to name our picks for best dressed and worst dressed at the People's Choice Awards 2014. Find that list below, then click here for a full People's Choice Award winners list.
People's Choice Awards Red Carpet: Best Dressed Picks
Nina Dobrev rocked an ultra-tailored Jenny Packham creation in black that featured long sleeves, a high neck and sparkling embellishments. Nina topped off her look with a stunning updo that set off her high cheekbones beautifully; she looked totally different than she does when she wears her hair down, which is often!
Jessica Alba stood out for all the right reasons in a tight white Jason Wu bandage dress that featured a zipper that ran the length of her torso; she completed her look with hoop earrings and closed-toe white pumps. Jessica wore her long hair down her back and carried a small, rectangular gold clutch.
People's Choice Award winner Jennifer Hudson (Favorite Humanitarian) also pulled off an all-white ensemble with a considerable degree of success, pairing a body-hugging long-sleeved dress with strappy white heels and understated jewelry. Her pixie haircut set off a bold lip and smoldering eye makeup. Gorgeous!
Honorable mentions for best dressed on the People's Choice red carpet go to Kat Dennings in the David Meister dress with the glittering roses all down the front (the bodice was a bit too tight to officially be on our best dressed list) and Anna Farris, who chose a sparkling pantsuit by Naeem Khan that was unexpected but very flattering on the blonde bombshell.
People's Choice Awards Red Carpet: Worst Dressed Picks
Now, we would never trash talk a pregnant lady. Especially if that pregnant lady is Drew Barrymore; we love, love, LOVE us some Drew Barrymore! But we were not loving the floor-length, white-and-yellow Vionnet dress she chose for the People's Choice red carpet on Wednesday night. There are way better maternity options, even in formal wear!
We also didn't love The Heat actress Sandra Bullock in that drab floral print frock from Peter Pilotto with pointed-toe green pumps. Her hair was loose and looked a bit messy; fine for a lunch date with a girlfriend or shopping for diapers for baby Louie at Costco, but this was a bit casual for the People's Choice Awards red carpet.
Melissa Joan Hart, Malin Akerman and Naya Rivera all get honorable mention for worst dressed on the People's Choice red carpet this year. Sorry, girls!
