People’s Choice Awards 2014 live streaming & TV coverage schedule, nominees

The 2014 People's Choice Awards live stream online and televised coverage arrives on Wednesday, Jan. 8 as honors are handed out in television, music and movies. Among the PCA nominees will be Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston, Sandra Bullock, Johnny Depp and Leonardo DiCaprio, with many more in other categories. Also, singer and actress Jennifer Hudson will be given a special honor during the televised show after the live stream People's Choice Awards show red carpet.

According to IBTimes.com on Jan. 7, the People's Choice online coverage starts at 8 p.m. EST with the red carpet special. Suchin Pak, Dave Karger and Tim Gunn will host the red carpet special as celebrities arrive in their various fashion statements for the big awards show. The live streaming online presentation will be available on the People’s Choice website and at the USTREAM site, with the link below. The special will run for approximately one hour and feature a live look at the red carpet, as well as commentary, interviews and much more.

The red carpet is followed by the main awards show. As mentioned, awards are given out for TV shows, movies, actors, actresses and musicians. There's a "who's who" list of the best names in Hollywood with the various categories. For example, TV actors that are part of the nominees include Neil Patrick Harris, Jim Parsons, Michael J. Fox, Robin Williams, Andy Samberg, Sandra Oh, Mariska Hargitay, Julianna Marguiles, Lea Michele, Jane Lynch and Kaley Cuoco. TV shows that are among the categories include “The Good Wife,” “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” “NCIS,” “Glee,” “Vampire Diaries,” “2 Broke Girls,” “Glee” and “Modern Family.”

Movie nominees are plentiful with categories such as Favorite Horror Movie, Favorite Thriller Movie, Favorite Family Movie, Favorite Dramatic Actor/Actress and Favorite Comedic Movie. Some of the movies nominated for awards include “Fast & Furious 6,” “The Heat,” “We’re the Millers,” “Insidious,” “Iron Man 3,” “The Great Gatsby,” “Captain Phillips,” “Gravity,” and “Lee Daniels’ The Butler.” Actors and actresses who are part of the nominees include Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, Hugh Jackman, Channing Tatum, Sandra Bullock, Scarlett Johansson and Oprah Winfrey.

Tonight’s musical performers will include Braid Paisley, One Republic and Sara Bareilles. Meanwhile, the nominees in music cover the gamut including Drake, Selena Gomez, Justin Timberlake, Taylor Swift, Icona Pop, Lorde, Britney Spears, Bruno Mars, Brad Paisley and Kanye West. It should be interesting to see which of these stars are awarded the “best of the best” for the past year by the PCA show. A full list of nominees for tonight's PCA's can be seen here.

One other major nominee to mention is award-winning singer and actress Jennifer Hudson. Hudson will receive a special award to add to her resume with the “Favorite Humanitarian” award at Wednesday night’s show. The award will be given due to the foundation she and her sister started to help children have positive experiences in their lives. Hudson and her sister started up the foundation in honor of Jennifer’s slain nephew. In addition to the award, the foundation will receive a $100,000 donation, according to Chicago Tribune. The award is presented by the Walgreens company.

Viewers can watch the 2014 People's Choice Awards beginning at 9 p.m. EST. CBS will televise the latest awards show, the 40th annual edition in standard and hi-definition for cable or satellite viewers. There's no live streaming online presentation listed for the awards show as of this report, only the red carpet live stream at 8 p.m. EST which will be running on the internet via USTREAM.
