People’s Choice Awards 2014 humanitarian award winner Jennifer Hudson stole the show, according to a Jan. 8 CNN report. But it was not Hudson’s sizzling white hot dress or chic accessories that stole the show. While the singer and actress did not win a People’s Choice Award for a performance, she gave an emotional speech that melted hearts.
Accepting the favorite humanitarian award with her sister Julia, the duo was recognized for the foundation started in the name of Julia’s son, Julian D. King, after his 2008 murder, which also took the lives of the sisters’ mother and brother.
According to Yahoo News, LL Cool J presented the award to Hudson, who noted, “It feels good to see positivity acknowledged. Where we come from all you hear about is who shot who and who went to jail. There is more to life than the block you live on. We want to show them that I came from the same area and if I can do it, you can do it too. It does not stop there.”
Hudson was the epitome of haute style in a figure-hugging, long-sleeve white KaufmanFranco dress that proved one does not need to show skin to be sexy. The style diva accessorized with minimal accessories, including sleek heels and chic watch.
