It is that time of year again and the nominees are in for People’s Choice Awards 2014. Did your favorite movies make the cut?

1. "Despicable Me 2": Released in the summer of this year, this popular sequel has a total gross thus far of $366,986,595 (domestic) and $551,331,208 (foreign). Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, Benjamin Bratt and Russell Brand are among some the actors who provided their voices to the characters of this film.

2. "Fast and Furious 6": With the recent passing of Paul Walker, many fans are looking for this film to win the People’s Choice Award this year. This was released in May of this year and has a total gross of $238,679,850 (domestic) and $550,000,000 (foreign). Fast and Furious 6 stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, The Rock, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris Bridges and Luke Evans.

3. "Iron Man 3": This film is a definitely a fan favorite. Released in May 2013, this action/adventure film grossed $406,013,994 (domestic) and $806,426,000 (foreign). Robert Downey Jr. stars in this film and is also nominated as favorite movie actor.

4. "Monsters University": This film was released in June 2013 and grossed $268,456,008 (domestic) and $475,066,843 (foreign). A great animated film directed by Dan Scanlon, this film was highly anticipated after such a great release with the first film entitled “Monsters, Inc.” in 2001.

5. "Star Trek Into Darkness": – May was a good month for releases this year! Trekkie fans were delighted to witness the release of this movie which grossed $228,778,661 (domestic) and $238,586,585 (foreign). This one stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana and falls into the Sci-Fi Adventure category (of course). Instantly a fan favorite, this movie is the last one up in running for this year’s favorite movie in 2013.

People’s Choice Awards will be on CBS and marks the fortieth anniversary. All grossing information was provided by boxofficemojo.
