People magazine: Sandra Bullock adopts black baby boy, Louis Bardo Bullock, and files for divorce

When you see the surprising news that Sandra Bullock has adopted a black baby boy -- or at least folks searching for info about the new arrival, Louis Bardo Bullock, and looking at these People Magazine pics of him are assuming he's black, though the name sounds decidedly Hispanic -- one wondered if the web-nerds weren't pulling a new Internet hoax.

Alas, it is not a hoax but a wonderful step for the woman who secretly began the adoption process with the Nazi-fascinated Jesse James -- whom People Magazine now says Bullock is divorcing.

For those who've watched the Oscar-winner's amazing turn as a woman who adopts a black son in The Blind Side, we can't help but surmise that Sandra Bullock's new adoption of what is assumed to be an African-American baby from New Orleans grew out of a role that touched her deeply.

Despite blacks who refused to see The Blind Side movie, and others who will inevitably tsk-tsk at what some say is another Caucasian celebrity rescuing a black or minority child, this one celebrates the adoption process that Bullock is now moving forward with as a single woman.

God bless -- seems like Jesse James was moved out of the way just in time.

The "Issues" tv show on Headline News channel is saying they will have news regarding Sandra's new bambino tonight on the show.

  • newshound 2 years ago

Would you put "adopts WHITE baby boy" in the headline? No, you wouldn't, so you don't do it here with black. Geez.

  • Crone 2 years ago

Or how bout "Sandra Bullock adopts dark skinned baby boy"???

  • Black Woman 2 years ago

What’s going on with this paper? Is it necessary to identify her child as "black baby boy"? It seems this writer is addressing the inappropriateness of question those who think this "strange, or different" , while being inappropriate. What a horrible writer and story. Do people in Cleveland still call African-Americans “Negro or Boy”? No wonder we have laws like those in Arizona. Racists don’t like to be called racists. They like to be called patriots. .. OK YOUR PATRIOTIC RACIST!!!

  • Ed 2 years ago

Wow. Whomever wrote this article is seemingly very ignorant. And to Newshound, that was the first thing I thought! No one would write "white baby boy." Lots of work still needs to be done!

  • Demi 2 years ago

What is wrong with you???? How can you be so ignorant?

  • Summer10 2 years ago

who cares what race the baby is.
She is happy. Obviously you are not.

it's kind of like Nicole Kidmans kids always being described as her "adopted' children.. people.. they are her CHILDREN.. weird..

Im a black woman and I don't give a damn about Sandra Bullock, adopting a black baby boy and I agree with earlier post the writer was tactless, and to Sandra Bullock, more power to you, raise a happy child good luck.

  • adi 2 years ago

seriously?! How could the examiner allow something so ignorant and tactless to be published! Who cares about the baby's race. She obviously loves the child and is willing to take care of him regardless of where he's from... which is the whole point of adoption by the way... she was clearly not inspired by the movie since she started the adoption process before the movie was even filmed so check your facts and get a life... its people like this author that allow ignorance to hatred to perpetuate

FYI, IT'S A *BLACK BABY* NOT A LATIN ONE. GET OVER IT.

  • Mary Lin 2 years ago

This is an embarrassing news story to describe the child as "black". The only possible reason I can see that they thought this should be pointed out was the tie-in to Jesse James Nazi connections and I suppose, the irony of that. But come on ...

  • Diana 2 years ago

Once America comes to turn what she did to black people for hundreds of years and thought it was right,apologize,re-write history to include their wrongs, address the school system by including people of color in every aspect of the system, then we will not have so many ignorant people about race in this country.
