In addition to being the Day of Pentecost, this coming Sunday (June 8) will also be the second Music Memorial Sunday to be held at the Church of the Advent of Christ the King. The intention of these days, celebrated twice a year (also on Christ the King day), is to honor loved ones at High Mass through donations in support of Schola Adventus and other music activities at the Church of the Advent in permanent memory of those who have died. Funds so collected are placed directly into the Dennis Brosnan Music Endowment Fund, and the names of the loved ones are added to a permanent list that will be printed in the bulletin on every subsequent Music Memorial Sunday.
Donations may be made online through PayPal with a PalPal account, a registered credit card, or bank account information. The Donations Web page on the Church’s Web site provides a hyperlink to a special PayPal page. In addition the Donations page has instructions for using an electronic mail hyperlink to specify that the donation is for “Music Memorial” and provide the name of the person being memorialized.
Donations may also be made by checks payable to Church of the Advent, again with the designation “Music Memorial.” They can be given along with the printed name of the person being memorialized. They may be sent through to mail to:

This performance will be a world premiere. Schola Adventus will also sing Thomas Tallis’ “Loquebantur variiis linguis” and the Gregorian Chants of the day, including the “Veni, sancte Spiritus” sequence. The anthem will be “The Spirit of the Lord” by Healy Willian.
The Church of the Advent of Christ the King is located at 261 Fell Street, between Franklin Street and Gough Street; and, for those coming by car, there is a parking lot adjacent to the church.
