Just minutes ago, the Department of Defense announced the death of a United States Airman who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.
Staff Sgt. Todd J. Lobraico Jr., 22, of New Fairfield, Conn., died Sept. 5, 2013, from wounds sustained when enemy forces attacked his unit with small arms fire near Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan.
According to Air Force Times his body is expected to arrive at Dover Air Field sometime tomorrow.
Staff Sgt. Lobraico was assigned to the 105th Security Forces Squadron at Stewart Air National Guard Base, N.Y.
Air Force Times also reports that Lobraico’s father is a police officer in Stamford, Conn., and a master sergeant in the Air Force. Facebook information here. The family has not released information regarding services for their Airman.
