'Penny Dreadful' season 1, episode 4: Sneak peeks and promo for 'Demimonde'

Showtime's new series, "Penny Dreadful" is intriguing and even after only three episodes, the show already has a lot of viewers hooked. So what is going to happen on season 1, episode 4? Two sneak peeks and a promo clip have been released for the upcoming episode, titled "Demimonde."

The first sneak peek shows Ethan looking very nervous and he asks Sir Malcolm to remind him the purpose of doing what they are about to do. He replies that it is because they are seeking the cure. Ethan questions whether they even know what the disease is.

Fenton, a servant to the vampire master that they captured on the last episode, is also in the room with Ethan and Sir Malcolm. Victor is also there and is getting some tubes ready. The doctor wants to take some of Ethan's blood, but he refuses and says it isn't a good idea. When pressed for answers, Ethan won't elaborate and just says "trust me." So, Sir Malcolm volunteers and Victor begins setting him up.

The second sneak peek for "Penny Dreadful" season 1, episode 4 features Vanessa and Dorian, who are attending an exhibit. He explains that the flower they are looking at the rarest orchid in the world. It can take up to 15 years to bloom. She asks him some questions about the orchid, including if it is poisonous. He takes a long look at her and says that like with all beautiful things, he hopes so.

Finally, the promo for the "Demimonde" episode starts off with a few flashes of different scenes of Dorian. Vanessa narrates that things are rarely what they seem and then Dorian's statement about everyone having secrets is heard. Victor is showing Ethan and Sir Malcolm the front page of a newspaper. The headline reads that a mother and child were mutilated and Victor says they were dismembered. The next scene shows Victor getting ready to inject Fenton. The doctor is looking for a cure for something he doesn't understand, but it has to do with the "eating of blood."

Also, Victor's first creation, Caliban, wants a bride and he tells Victor that she needs to be beautiful. The doctor responds "to match her mate," which angers Caliban and he pushes him. "The Creature" as he is also called, informs Victor that the future belongs to him and those of his kind. Caliban then tells Victor to "look upon your master."
