Suzanne Thomas of Danville, Pa., has been sentenced to jail for shooting, and killing, her neighbor's yellow Labrador retriever, "Georgia."
According to WNEP News, the 57-year-old woman feels that her sentence of between 45 days and 18 months in jail, is too harsh.
In fact, she feels that she was justified in killing her neighbor's dog because the dog had killed one of her rabbits.
But it was the manner that Thomas went about killing the dog that seemed to influence the Montour County judge the most.
In Jan., 2012, Thomas tied Georgia to a tree and then shot her three times in the head.
Thomas' cruel actions prompted the judge to advise her that what she did was "mean" to both the dog, and to the dog's family.
Georgia's family describes their former pet as wonderful dog who liked to sit on her family's lap.
Unfortunately for Georgia, her family apparently did not keep her within her own yard, and the frustrated neighbor utilized deadly force to resolve the problem.
Thomas was ordered to jail on Monday.
