Pennsylvania man suffocates girlfriend after trying to kill her in car crash

Police in Manheim, PA filed homicide charges on Friday, Dec. 28, against a man who suffocated his girlfriend. The murder occurred after he tried to kill her in an automobile accident.

Benjamin Daniel Klinger, 19 intentionally drove his car into a guardrail while he was going 100 miles per hour. His girlfriend, 17, was in the vehicle with him and after the accident didn’t take her life, he sat on her head suffocating her.

Sammi Heller, 17 was killed on Dec. 4 on the interstate outside of Manheim. Klinger has been accused of not only crashing his car intentionally but also for killing Heller.

Lancaster County District Attorney, Craig Stedman spoke with the Intelligencer Journal regarding the situation. “At first glance, this appeared to be simply another tragic vehicular accident. However, the police worked hand-in-hand with our forensic experts and saw this was far more complicated, sinister and certainly criminal.”

Sammi Heller was a senior at J.P. McCaskey High School. In her obituary, loved ones described her as athletic and loved motorcycles and horses.
