Whiskers, a 28-year-old mare may be a little sore after ten firemen had to help her get back on her feet late last week in Robeson Township after the horse slipped on some icy grass while eating reported wfmz.com.

Rodney Weinhold noticed his horse had fallen and had her back against the fence making it too difficult for the horse to get up on her own.

Weinhold called 9-1-1, and the Gibraltar and Geigertown Fire Department officers with a harness and rope attached to a front-end loader, were able to help Whiskers get back on her feet.

Although exhausted and scared, Whiskers is reported to be doing fine.

Congratulations to the firemen and Mr. Weinhold for being there to rescue Whiskers. Please visit the Gibraltar Fire Department's Facebook page and thank everyone for a job well-done.
