Danny and Kimberly Watts of Washington County were arrested on Wednesday and charged with animal cruelty and child endangerment after Kimberly stabbed a puppy for nipping at her toddler's lip reported cbslocal.com.

Authorities state the couple's two-year-old child was unsupervised when the puppy jumped up and bit the little girl on her lip. The child is reported to be doing fine.

A witness said Kimberly Watts used a five-inch knife on the dog, and stated, " I tried to kill him."

Danny Watts was alleged to have thrown another puppy against the wall.

The puppies, named Trooper and Sadie, are now in the care of C.R.I.C.A.A. T. (pronounced 'cricket'), a nonprofit in Washington County. Other dogs were removed from the home on Wednesday evening, according to the organization's Facebook page.

Both Kimberly, 26, and Danny Watts, 25, were taken to the Washington County Jail.
