After 3 weeks, the boil advisory has been lifted in Penn Township. There was a portable filtration plant is attached to the water supply to insure clean water. After the plant was attached, the DEP tests came back clean. People were working hard to get this problem solved.
"Everybody worked hard," said Dave Sarley with the Penn Township Board of Supervisors. "We had people literally working around the clock, engineers, everybody to come up with a solution, a viable solution."
According to the Center for Disease Control, there are some steps that need to be completed in order to make sure that your water is clean after water boil alerts are lifted. The CDC advises that people leave their cold water run for at least 5 minutes and drain hot water heaters that are set below 113 degrees Fahrenheit and people also need to change their water filters.
