Penn State Beaver Career Services will host an on-campus series of events and workshops during Penn State Beaver Career Week.
Professional Resume Reviews
Special Events Room, Student Union Building
Tuesday, March 15, 2011 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Volunteers from a wide variety of professional backgrounds will assist in providing valuable feedback to our students about their resumes, which is their crucial self-marketing tool. Volunteers will maintain a fixed station, and students will spend approximately 5-10 minutes at each station to receive feedback about their resumes from volunteers.
Networking & Meal Interview Etiquette Workshop
Lodge, Upper Level, Student Union Building
Wednesday, March 16, 2011 5:30 - 8:45 p.m.
For this two-part event, volunteers and Penn State Beaver students are invited for
hors d’oeuvres, refreshments, and networking beginning at 5:30 p.m. Students will have the opportunity to meet you and other professionals while practicing business networking skills. Dinner will follow with guest presenter Susan Timko of Carnegie Mellon University who will facilitate a workshop on “The Meal Interview: Eat, Drink, and Make a Good Impression, Plus Business Etiquette Tips.”
Speed Interviewing
Room 16, Student Union Building
Thursday, March 17, 2011 Noon – 2:00 p.m.
A Speed Interview is a format in which volunteers serve as employers and meet briefly with students (8-10 minutes) to form a first impression and conduct quick “comparison shopping.” If you are seeking candidates for part-time, full-time, summer, and/or seasonal job opportunities and/or internships, this event offers a great opportunity to network with potential candidates.
